I really liked the original model but wanted to fill in the wing holes with another filament. So, I put the original model in Blender and made a separate model for the wing holes. This was my first print with silk PLA and it worked out really well.
I also added eyes to the original model and fixed a few issues in the geometry to ensure the boolean difference operator in Blender would work.
My wife loves the result. Thank you to the original author.
NOTE: This remix is intended to be printed on a multi-extruder machine (IDEX, Dual extruder, AMS or Tool Swap, others?). The base STL file, is assigned to the first material slot or extruder and the accent STL file assigned to the second. Then use a slicer menu, or right click option, to position the STL models so they are aligned. For Luban, it is Align, for Cura it is Merge and Prusa Slicer seems to position them automatically.
