The file 'Floating State Ornaments With Heart Cutout 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 101.5KB.
I decided to try another ornament design using the floating with tulle technique I used with the Floating Snowflake Ornament (and floating snowflake earrings)
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3264926
I gave each state a heart cutout because it's cute and a popular thing to do.
You need to print the state first and you need to pause halfway through to place the tulle. Make sure your print is no more than 2.1mm thick or whatever clearance your printer has. (if you keep the print 2.1mm you should have 10 layers so you want the pause after layer 5)
Once you have the state, take it off and start the border print with a pause halfway through. When it pauses, tape down the state as centered as you can in the border and start the print back up.
DO NOT use a skirt with the state, but I like to use a skirt with the border. I have the skirt go up 6 layers which is one layer after the pause.
If anyone wants me to add a different state, let me know :) I have it all ready to go and it should be easy to do more.
I printed this on black tulle so it would disappear into the tree. If you wanted to use this for like a window hanging, I would suggest white or ivory tulle.
I'm also selling these on Etsy (because I have to support my 3D printing addiction somehow): https://www.etsy.com/shop/MasterofNoneBoutique
