This is a remix of HeavyMetalGuy's Nintendo "Switch invisible game holder". I rescaled it and cut it in half so that I could use it as a base to build a floating shelf for my VHS tape collection. The shelf should be near the exact dimensions needed to hold both VHS tapes with a cardboard box using the "vhs_shelf.stl" file, or VHS tapes with a fat case, such as with Disney movies, using the "vhs_shelf_fat_cases.stl" file.
I also added mounting holes with a slight taper for a flat-head Philipps screw.
I printed the examples in the images using eSun 1.75mm diameter filament in Pink, using a 1.00mm brass nozzle in the hotend. The temperature was set to 205C in the hotend and 60C on the bed. Wall thickness was set at 3.0mm, infill density was set at 20% with cubic infill. Due to the wall thickness, the infill density and type don't matter if using a 1.00mm nozzle.
Adaptive layers, Coasting, and Infill Travel Optimization were all enabled to save time, as well as filament since this is a near-solid print.
Overall print time was about 4.5 hours for each of the regular VHS tape shelves, and 8.5 hours for the fat case shelf.
Expect a dramatic increase in print time if using a nozzle smaller than 1.0mm.
This is a great print if you have a VHS collection, a lot of half-used spools of random-colored filament, and minimal wall space to display your VHS tapes.
