Summary

Note : The clearance of the parts are quite tight to make the operation of the case is achievable. Mind of elephant foot effect when print. You may need some sanding or carving to make the pusher work properly depending on the printer and the material.

I made this housing for those who want to use the z limit switch laying around as a filament runout sensor after installing BL touch.

I designed this housing to use with a couple of skate board bearings (608 bearings / Abec 9 )so it doesn’t grind the filament when it goes through. Also it’s a bi-dirctional so it shouldn’t affect your retractions.

The mount supports M3 screws, 4mm v-slot screws and zip ties so you can mount it on the z rod fixture or on the top of the frame if you use direct drive.

With the wiring of the switch, I only used two wires. One from “s” on sensor side to the left end pin on the runout sensor port on board. Then from “v” to the second pin on the port. Then enabled filament sensor on Jyer firmware.

Cheers.
