The file 'Filament Bin Holders 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 35.8KB.
I started this simple little project after having accumulated a fair amount of filament for my printer. I began to realize that between the mound of filament containing boxes and constant switching of material and/or color led to problems in several ways, not the least of which was time spent switching, dust build-up, and moisture concerns. My solution is as you see here. This thus far has solved said aforementioned issues and I sincerely hope it can do the same for you. I used PVC pipe for the main support structure, though it does not work for filament spools with smaller diameter holes and I plan to alter this design for that in the near future. The PVC used is an outer diameter of 42.3mm and an inner diameter of 33.8mm. 12-24 x 1" machine screws were used to attach the holders to the sides of the bin. To combat the dust issue, the threaded filament dust filter (found here - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:497764) was attached to the bin as seen in the photo via a 3/4" hole saw, and desiccant was placed at the bottom of the bin.
NOTE - I will be placing more filters on the outside of my bin for 3 to 4 spools, I just haven't gotten around to that yet what with life getting in the way.
