From the Rotor Riot video instructional on how to turn the Panasonic NCR18650 3400mah batteries into Fatshark lipos with battery level indicator, I designed a case to go with it. It is an extremely tight fitting design and I recommend you only try this if you are great at soldering. Not for beginners, and I may design a simpler version for newbies in the future if enough requests.
What you need:
- 2x Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mah batteries (ebay, amazon)
- 2s Lipo Battery Voltage Display Indicator Board (banggood, ebay)
- 2S Balance plug (ebay, amazon)
- 5.5 x 2.1mm DC Power Male Jack right angle (ebay, amazon)
- cyanoacrylic glue or 2-parts epoxy
- hotglue
Tips:
- You do NOT need to dremel the ends of the battery to get the wires to adhere, a simple metal file or sandpaper will do the trick to remove the oxidation layer for solder to wick.
- Use thin wires for the voltage indicator board as to fit inside the casing
- inject a bit of hot glue where the power lead and balance plug exits to keep it in place from being tugged on.
