The Miner’s Guild trains their workers to operate as well organized fighting cadres to defend themselves in the field. Similarly, the Spacer’s guild trains their crews to operate as marines to protect themselves against roving gangs of pirates and other threats of space. Every Guild maintains some amount of trained and armed soldaten amongst its workers, though theoretically all guild employees can be mobilized if then need arises.
