For a correct sound, I applied a thin layer of "Pattex" brand glue (Repair Extreme) over the entire surface with the hole (very thin layer and as smooth as possible), it is flexible and looks like silicone once once dry.
Silicone should also do the same thing but take longer to dry.
*You can reduce the size, the test one I did it at 82%
