Summary

UPDATE 2
I have added an STL with the torpedoes attached.

UPDATE
I have fixed a problem with the life raft near the bridge - it was out of position and not properly attached.

Early version Farimile D in 1/300

The Fairmile D "Dog Boat" came in a wide range of versions. This particular hull is one of the earliest types made, as it lacks the "scallops" for torpedo launching (numbers 601 through to 616 lacked these, all later boats had them).

When delivered, these early dog boats had no torpedoes and were straight MGBs. They were later converted by adding 18" torpedo launchers.

Since the armament of these boats varied so much I have included a range of guns - though by no means all of the types carried by these boats during the war.

There are a few different files here:

Fairmile D MGB Early - the boat as it was originally made (guns, apart from the two twin 50 cal mounts, printed separately)

Fairmile D MGB - the same boat with a raised platform added amidships for mounting 20mm Oerlikons on.

Fairmile D MGB with Torpedoes - the same boat again, with raised platform and Torpedoes.

Fairmile D MGB 601 March 1942 - the first dog boat as it was armed in March 1942, with 2 pounder forward, the normal two twin 50 cal turrets, a Holman Projector amidships and two 20mms on a Mk V Power Mount at the rear.

20mm Oerlikon on Mk VIIA Mount - twin 20mms, often mounted amidships, on the raised platform there, or at the rear.

20mm Oerlikon on Mk V Power Mount - twin 20mms on a powered mount, mounted similarly to the other 20mm mount.

QF 2 Pounder on Mk XV (Power) Mount - usually mounted at the front of the boat.

QF 6 Pounder Hotchkiss - a very old gun by WWII standards, but it was often the only "big" gun available for small boats. Usually mounted at the rear.

QF 6 Pounder Molins Gun - a semi-automatic version of the 6 pounder anti-tank gun. 2 of them, front and rear, became standard by late war. These were only available after these boats had been given torpedoes.

18 inch Torpedo - mounted in pairs, usually mounted at the location shown on the stl that includes them.

Holman Projector - a very strange, steam powered anti-aircraft fitting. The boats originally had these mounted amidships, but they had poor performance and were replaced with 20mms as soon as possible.

Twin Lewis Guns - mounted on the sides of the bridge. These are small and delicate, and are probably best left off the model but here they are anyway.

Twin Vickers HMGs in Power Mount - these are included on the hull as they seem to have been standard for pretty much all dog boats.
