Summary

This is a modification of BoardGameGeek user Gavin McGruddy's fantastic insert for the Garphill Games board game Ezra and Nehemiah - find the original, designed for unsleeved cards, here. The sleeves I'm using and designing around are the 60 micron Sleeve Kings SKS-8821 and SKS-8803 packs.

Note: this insert accommodates the promo scroll tiles and metal coins that were available during the Kickstarter campaign.

Compared to the original design this one shuffles some of the storage locations around:

  • resources go where the original design had the player tokens, with some slight modifications
  • the tray that held the prophet and NPC worker tokens has been extended so that it can store the money tokens instead
  • the solo and setup cards get their own tray, which also houses the shofar and prophet and NPC tokens
  • each player gets a tray to hold their cards and tokens; two each of the Player Items files are required, and they each have a cut-out so that the Temple tile can sit in the top.
  • there isn't enough space for the Blessing tokens to be stored with the rest of the player's tokens, so they are stored in the top of the Resource bins: 5 in with each of the Stone and Wood, and 2 in with the Cinders

A full set of the insert consists of the following parts, with certain decisions to be made along the way:

  • 1x Non Player Items
  • 1x Development Tiles
  • 1x Scroll Tiles
  • First decision: Food. Either:
-- 1x Food V1: one large tray, or
-- 2x Food V2: smaller trays that take up the same volume as the V1 design
  • Second decision: Player Items. Each insert will need two each (that is, 4 total) of either:
-- Player Items Simple (both 1 and 2) V2: this is a simple tray without internal dividers, or
-- Player Items Complex (both 1 and 2) V1: this is a tray with an internal divider for the smaller cards and a circular cut out to help remove them
-- In either case, the Temple tile sits in a cut out in the centre of all four Player Items trays
  • Third decision: Money. Either:
-- 1x Money V1: one large tray, or
-- 2x Money V2: smaller trays that take up the same volume as the V1 design
  • 1x Gold Resource tray
  • 1x Cinder Resource tray
  • Fourth decision: Wood Resource. Either:
-- 1x Wood Resource V1: identical to Gavin's original Player Pieces tray
-- 1x Wood Resource V2: 0.5mm longer than the V1, to give a little extra space for player Blessing tokens
  • Fifth decision: Stone Resource. Either:
-- 1x Stone Resource V1: identical to Gavin's original Player Pieces tray
-- 1x Stone Resource V2: 0.5mm longer than the V1, to give a little extra space for player Blessing tokens
