This is a extruder for flexible filament such as TPU, TPR, TPE etc.
Usually 3D printer use hard filament like ABS and PLA as the main material.
If you want to use flexible filament as main material, this situation might happen: the filament will stuck in extruder and cause stop printing.
For avoiding the problem, you can use this thing to improve your extruder!!!!
