The problem with this great filament dryer is that it is too narrow and won't fit the coils of many manufacturers. The maximum width of the coil according to the manufacturer is 68mm. that's really not enough. Coils with a width of 76 mm are very common.
This extension allows you to place coils up to 86mm.
In theory, it would be possible to modify the extension for two coils, but I don't need that.
For expansion, it is necessary to cut it in half according to the photo. The cutting tool should be as thin as possible so that you do not reduce the size of the coil. I used a 1mm flex disc.
On the bottom, cut off the ribs in 4 places to a depth of 5 mm
Print the parts that are attached.
Cut 2 pcs of rods as a shaft from circular steel with a diameter of 4 mm. Length as needed, depending on how strong the saw is.
Cut and extend the cable to the display. I used a simple PCB for the extension.
Assemble and it's done. With accurate work and a well-calibrated printer, there is no need to glue. It all holds together well. If it doesn't stick, it can be glued with instant glue.
Made a small upgrade.
The original wiring cover on the bottom comes to throw away.
The wiring cover has been redesigned.
After the wiring cover is printed, the 4 strips on the edge heat up and bend. They will then function as bearing pads.
Everything is printed without supports.
