Here is a chess / checkers board that you can print in quadrants and slide together. If you feel the need for a larger board, you can assemble as many of these pieces as you like.
The chess set pictured is from the 3D Builder app I helped make (please excuse my shameless plug). I didn't design any of the content in the app, but I was inspired to make what I think is a cooler chessboard than the one we included.
