When this challenge was posted, I immediately turned to my students to brain storm ideas as to what to design. They decided to not try and design something that just made noise, but something that could be utilized in an educational setting as well. So they went and spoke with the music teacher and they came up with the idea of a Guiro.
I then instructed my students to research what a Guiro was, and where it originated from. After doing their research, my students then began sketching out their ideas which led to the idea of making this instrument expandable. Students wanted the people who made this to be able to add two or more Guiros if wanted.
Overall, I am very impressed with what my students and I were able to come up with.
