Another prop for my World of Warcraft Warlock setup: a spellbook.

Although not strictly necessary, or even directly Warcraft related. Cosplay, or more precisely LARP, requires you to know a whole set of rules and regulations. Spell casting characters like Warlock are also required to know a slew of spells on top of that. And so, fearing my poor little head can't possibly learn let alone retain such vast amounts of encyclopedic information, i thought a digital version of a spellbook may come in handy.
Obviously this also gives cause for some more techno-trickery to make onlookers go 'wow' (pun intended).
For this spellbook is not going to be just a book obviously. It will, but not be limited to, do the following:

• Display information on 2 screens, mimicking an actual book. I decided to venture into ePaper displays for this, both to make it seem more real and also because LARP is usually done outside. And we all know that sun and LCD displays don't play nice together.
• Have a lock. Imagine thick, old leatherbound books like only fantasy can produce with hefty iron hinges and locks to protect its content from the nosy passer-by. Or, in case of a Warlock themed spellbook: 2 sets of bony fingers interlocking to keep the tome locked. Magically recognising its true owner and unlocking when picked up.
• React to incantations. Or, to put it in modern terms: have voice recognition. Why? Because a magical tome with a mouse and keyboard is just plain silly. And you have to be able to have it show the info you want somehow tight?
• And since we'll be dabbling with voice, why not have it interact by whispering back... so add text-to-speech also.
