The file 'EPIc PlethoraPI Case ( Raspberry Pi 2 And 3 Case) 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 4.6 MB.
A stackable , expandable, pi case for those who like to put them in an array. Really just the tip of the iceburg on this. I sort of wanted to get it out there and see what people think. I printed most of the parts so im confident they all will work. Ill like to hear if there are ways to improve on it or make it more versitile so if you have suggestions feel free to comment. As always show those makes. I would like to see some finished products on this one forsure.
Parts uploaded to be correctly orientated for ease of printing.
*** Should be able to remove any Pi out of the cluster by just pressing on the round recess on the part called cover and slide it out of the case without having to unsnap layers. After testing this you have to have no fan or the fan mounted in the tray as not to get in the way of the pi sliding out. The cooling is better if it is hanging down but it does NOT allow the pi to be slid out. To install the Pi into the Main part - place the cover onto the PI and slide it into the main - it snaps into place.
No screws needed except for adding the 40mm fans if you add the cooling layer.
These parts need to be printed with supports:
ePIc PlethoraPi Cover
ePIc PlethoraPi Main
ePIc PlethoraPi Main OPT 1
ePIc PlethoraPi Top w legs
ePIc PlethoraPi bottom w legs
To make one case you need to brint the following files:
ePIc PlethoraPi Bottom ( Any Version )
ePIc PlethoraPi Main
ePIc PlethoraPi cover
ePIc PlethoraPi Top (Any Version)
If you want to add a layer for cooling:
ePIc PlethoraPi Fan
I made 2 versions of the Main and the fan
The ones labled OPT 1 have some steampunked style details to them if your intersted in that sort of thing.
I created the legs on the top or bottom for people who want to manage cables stand up on a table or be mounted to a wall.
UPDATE - 1.23.19 Added rendering and file for a bottom to hold an 2.5" harddrive.
ePIc PlethoraPi Bottom w HD
You will need to print this part w supports and add screws to hold the harddrive in from the sides.
UPDATE - 1.31.19 Fellow printer noticed not enough room around the sdcard to have it removable without taking off the insert. Made the cutout slightly larger in the main body so it has enough clearance. Also added recess in the main cover for the HDMI and power plug to allow them to be plugged in more securely. Also updated the oreintation of the bottom w hd to be correct for printing.
