Summary

I started with just wanting a somewhat replica of the ID10 droid from the video game Star Wars Battlefront II. Once I had what I thought looked pretty good I started carving it apart to create a raspberry pi case. It turned out much better than I thought when I started so I am here to share it. Download it, try it out and be sure to come back and tip :) Please :) And if you cant afford a buck or 2 please share your makes at the very least. I do appreciate the love and happy to share :)

Features of the design:

Body can hold a raspberry Pi 2 or 3
Has mounting spot for a 40 x 40 x 10mm fan
Clearance inside nose cone to install an led running from your pi
Opening for 3mm jack, hdmi, and power plug ( you will need to buy low profile versions of these cords to fit in the cavity. More so the HDMI as the power cord has a lot of space.

HDMI that works awesome

Air inputs around the perimeter to allow airflow into the pi cavity
Also designed compatibility for a 90 Deg hdmi adapter to run hdmi out the bottom instead of side.
Universal mount system so if you want to mount just the droid portion without the legs in can easy be retro fitted.

Special notes:

Limited access to the GPIO pins.
No access to ribbon cable ports on pi through the case. I am pretty sure you could dremel some slots in there if you had to have specific access.

I wish I was more of a finisher because I think this could turn out unbelievable in the right hands and the proper finish.

Needed hardware:
A raspberry Pi 2 or 3 ( of course )
4 #4 x 3/8 screws to mount pi into body
3 #5 x 3/8-1/2 long screws to attach covers to body
4 3mm or equivalent x 1/2" long screws w corresponding nylock nuts to attach legs to body and legs to base or you can just tape the holes and use an 8- 32 screws

Optional :
40 x 40 x 10mm 5v fan
4 #4 x 3/8" long screws to mount fan
5mm led
You will want to run this of the 3v port on the pi

If you don't have the means to print one yourself you can get it from my shop here.
