Summary

Purpose

Support the Ender 3 V2 Printer on its side for easy, stable access to the underside of the printer.

Description

The Ender 3 V2 control board is mounted a upside down from the previous Ender 3's, so it is accessed by removing the bottom panel of the surrounding shell.as opposed to the top panel on previous Enders. This makes for a harrowing balancing act when tilting the printer onto its side to access the correct panel. Because of all the protrusions from the printer, there's almost no stable way for the printer to rest on a surface other than on its feet, making access to the control board very limited.

This side stand design solves this problem by allow the printer to be tiled on its right side to a stable position without removing the screen or any other parts. These can be mounted on the left side also if the filament is mounted to a side mount.

Design

There are two different legs/feet types in this design. Both can be printed without supports.

Upper Foot

The upper foot attaches to the top 2020 extruded aluminum by removing the 2020 end cap, placing the end cap between the two arms of the part, and sliding the part and end cap back onto the 2020. There is a M3 set screw hole on each arm (an M3x8 works well for this) for locking the foot in place.

Lower Feet

The lower foot should be printed twice. The feet are mounted from the front and rear ends of the 4040 extruded aluminum and the base of the printer. The screen mount may need to be slide as close to the center of the rail as it can to leave room for the front foot. There is a M3 set screw hole (M3x8 screw is a good fit) for locking the feet into position.
