SUMMARY

I've remixed the original case design to support additional accessory hardware mounts, add support for stock layout boards such as the original Creality boards and SKR Mini E3 etc, add support for the new Raspberry Pi 4 and fix a number of issues that myself and others have reported with the original design. I've also re-designed the fan mount to be more accommodating to a wider range of fans (Noctua 40mm fans now install/remove without damage).

CONSIDERATIONS

• The Raspberry Pi 4 version and the stock version are untested and I would like someone to verify and post in the comments section if it works. Please bare this in mind before printing.

• Requires printer to be raised slightly with damping feet. I highly recommend squash ball feet (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3044013) as these damp the printer to near silence when used with quiet stepper drivers and quiet fans. I've tried many other damping options, including specialised dense foam damping pads/gels and nothing quite matches the squash balls!

• Ender 3 Pro only - This case is designed for the Ender 3 Pro and I have not tested fitment on a standard Ender 3, but there's likely a few changes required to make it fit. The original step file is included if you want to make modifications yourself to allow this to fit.

ACCESSORY MOUNTING

• 3x LM2596 buck converters (4x with the stock board version)
• 1x KY-019 relay

FIXES APPLIED

• Moved Raspberry Pi mounting holes 1mm back from the wall as myself and others found that the fitment was slightly out (probably due to differences in metal shield section manufacturing tolerances. Either way, moving the pi back slightly works for everyone).

• Removed large bridged gap from design that a few people complained about in the original model.

• Tweaked mounting hole placement for buck converters - I found they were a mm or so off in both axis.

• Modified fan mount to be an 'open' design and more accomodating for a wider range of fans (original design was extremely tight fitting for Noctua fans which were almost impossible to remove once fitted without damaging the fan. Fan now requires 4x 10-12mm M3 bolts (cap head recommended).

PRINTING

I printed this with 60 degree supports touching buildplate at 80mm/s with AMZ3D Black PLA on my Ender 3 Pro.

ADDITIONAL HARDWARE REQUIRED

• M2 and M3 Brass hot-press inserts (to be pressed in with hot soldering iron) - (recommend https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CPRHP2X)
• 40mm Fan (I recommend Noctua for near silent operation - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Noctua-NF-A4x10-5V-3-Pin-Premium/dp/B00NEMGCIA)
• 4x M3 12mm cap head bolts for mounting fan (nylon preferred for sound damping - but honestly I use metal and my Noctua is silent). You can also use longer bolts and secure with additional nuts if you like, but 10mm will hide the bolts and simply tap into the plastic.
• M3 bolts to mount mainboard and accessory hardware
• M2 bolts to mount Raspberry Pi
• 4x M5 6-10mm bolts for securing the case to the ends of the frame.
