The file 'Ender 3 80mm Spool Holder W Stock Nut 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 1.2MB.
I probably never would have needed this except that the Ender 3 extruder gear slips like crazy when printing PETG, as a result of friction with the original spool holder.
There's a gazillion remixes of the holder by mjoaris, this one specifically addresses three issues:
The flange at the end is unnecessarily large and forces the print to lie on a bed of supports, when printed on its side. I just chopped them off so the side lies directly on the print bed. Supports are still needed, though.
The semicircular mounts to hold the bearings seem to be exactly the size of a 608 bearing and no larger, with the result that the mounts can crack when you force a bearing into place. I scaled up the mounts to leave a tiny bit of extra space.
I reused the roller from my print of the holder by mjoaris.
There are any number of remixes that fix all of these issues, but I had just printed the original and was unhappy that the mount cracked. This is just my way of fixing the problem without reprinting the roller.
