The file 'Emergency Stop Punch Button 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 6.6KB.
Sometimes I feel the need to quickly power off my machine tools when working on it, and have installed a "remote" stop switch on the lathe that I grab and hold in the hand when making some critical operation. Just a press and the motor is dead.
My lathe and my milling machine have already latching emergency stop buttons, but sometimes, specially when working on the lathe, I want to stop the motor without move my body to reach the original commands and without have to keep the switch in my hand.
Besides, I did not wanted a latching switch, because to re-start the motor, I need to push the "on" button again, so there is no danger of an unexpected (and VERY dangerous) re-start.
So I have designed this small box with an articulated lid to fit a standard end-course switch.
The base received four 20 x 2 mm round neodymium magnets, that allows me to locate the switch near my hand (or even foot/knee). The switch stays in place without any glue.
Hope it is useful to someone !
