My wife needed an embroidery hoop for some embroidery to be incorporated into a quilt that she is making. We tried a couple of the designs already on Thingiverse, one with a printed screw, but all without success, so I set about designing my own.
I started with the 100 mm. Version 1 was okay, however, the knob for the bolt was too long, and the recesses in the frame and the knob were too shallow, so the 400 mm bolt would easily unscrew.
With version two I shortened the knob, increased the depth of the recesses in the frame and knob so that a 40 mm long, M5 bolt is ideal. I also rounded out the join between the clamp and the hoop and added a small (1 mm) radius to the outside edge of the top of the inner hoop.
