The file 'Ekobots – Rubik´s Cube “As One Piece”. 3D Printer Model' is (scad,stl) file type, size is 5.9MB.

Summary

Rubik´s Cube Assembled.

  • First Rubik´s Cube "3D Print and Play".
  • No screws, no mounting, no rework, orbital gears.
  • You do not need support material if you have a good printer,
    or you can use PVA as support material.

New version, now it is CUSTOMIZABLE!

The distance between pieces in the uploaded Cubes are:

  • 0.25 mm distance between the blocks;
  • 0.50 mm distance between the core;
  • You can alter the values in the Customizable section to prevent the pieces to fuse.

Instructions:

  • Use small extruder nouse <= 0.35;
  • Use small layer height <= 0.20;
  • Use the distance of pieces and core bigger than your printer layer height;
  • Use cooling all the time;
  • You need a good cooling system;
  • You need a precise printer;
  • It is not so easy, but can be done!

This object still in work process!

You have 4 versions:

  • Normal - Just add the colors and play.
  • Dice notation - Just play! Like one braille, it can be used by visually impaired too. ;-D

  • No support pins, to print with PVA as support:
    Rubik_Cube_V2_Normal_Fixed.stl
    Rubik_Cube_V2_Dice_Fixed.stl

  • With support pins, to simple extruder printers:
    Rubik_Cube_V2_Normal_Sup_Fixed.stl
    Rubik_Cube_V2_Dice_Sup_Fixed.stl

Now with test pieces to test your printer,
with core distances from 0.25 mm to 0.75mm:

  • Test_Core.25mm.stl;
  • Test_Core.35mm.stl;
  • Test_Core.45mm.stl;
  • Test_Core.55mm.stl;
  • Test_Core.65mm.stl;
  • Test_Core.75mm.stl;
    Easy way to find the best "Core Distance" value for your printer.

The original idea is from thingiverse user William Johnson:

  • "I just think that the rubiks cube would make an excellent example for students of what 3D printers can really do in terms of creating preassembled objects with less pieces."
