I meant to get to the face plate overlay sooner, but politics got in the way this week.
AMENDED : This is the plate that goes over the main plate. It is not just decorative to highlight the compass ring in a different color (silk silver PLA for main plate, matte black PLA for this plate), but it has pilot holes for lining up all plates, and indents for either printing labels in your own language choice, add letters in 3D to the file in those four places so it prints the lettering in those cavities, or assigned arrangements of the dial placement for personal preference, something of a fair play move.
CORRECTION : Label placements enlarged for 9mm / or 3/8" label maker tape. Should be less tedious than glue to a 3mm wide paper label that wouldn't be very durable over time.
I also thought it was important to build in a speaker grill to the plate for you, to speed up printer production and final assembly.
