The file 'EdRover – Raspberry Pi Home Surveillance Rover With Charging Station 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 625.1KB.

Summary

Finally I can build a fully functional home surveillance rover with the below requirements,

  • charging station to run 24hrs
  • low latency
  • can be controlled over internet/web from anywhere in the world
  • mostly 3D printed
  • runs on Raspberry Pi 3

Dimension - 15.5cm(W) x 14cm(L) x 7cm(H)

This build consist of 4 parts,

  1. print nahueltaibo's modular rover track
  2. Software that runs on Raspberry Pi by Max.K
  3. Building the rover
  4. The Charging station

If you find this build too complicated for you, try the much simpler RC version below,
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3671892

Part 1 - Track

Head over to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3112734 and print everything, except Enclosure A, Enclosure B, base and MRTConnector

Part 2 - Software

a. Go to https://hackaday.io/project/25092-zerobot-raspberry-pi-zero-fpv-robot
Read about the software and wiring diagram
b. Download the PRO Version of the IMAGE file, so you can use it right away(just change your WIFI setting in the wplan file)
c. Get the necessary parts such as Raspberry Pi, Pi Camera, TP4056, ADS1115, LED and etc
d. Install the image onto your Raspberry SD card and try that it works so it makes you happy
e. About controlling over the internet/web for access from anywhere in the world, i got a VPN setup on my router which allow me to access the WIFI at home remotely. So far using OpenVPN profile works best surprisingly.

Part 3 - Assembling the tank

a. Print all my files, according to the suggested facing. I just print them all in 0.3 reso
b. Assemble as shown in the exploded view

  • see the extra pics for tips

Part 4 - Charging station

Charging station, go to this link
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3671931

  • Print the "light conductor" part with transparent filament

Parts list,

M3 screws are mostly 5mm, 8mm, 10mm. must be countersunk screw
M2 screw on charging pads. must be cap screw. less than 5mm
