Hello, for those that don't know my ‘insert philosophy’ - I am creating modular inserts that are focused on reducing setup and space on table, filament consumption is not my highest priority, but of course I'm trying to save some material where I can.

Important Notes:

  • My main priority here was to fit all mini expansions and new expansions into the base box. My second priority was to reduce needed table space,

  • There are three “drawbacks” - first one pretty huge - player resource boards are not supported. They are too large, so I decided to replace them with custom population tray and counters. Second - there is one less space for each technology track except black ones - for them there's additional space. Third - at least two color will be needed for better visibility, I recommend 4 though,

  • Clearence for holder covers is very small - 0.2mm horizontal. In some of my previous inserts it was 0.4mm horizontal and 0.2mm vertical.

Supports:

  • vertical storage,

  • all expansions - Seekers, Outcasts,

  • all mini expansions - except terrain ships.

This insert features:

  • faction holders - for all faction components, with custom population tray and counters for resources,

  • two combat holders - for dices, damage cubes, ships, minor species,

  • ship parts holder - for ship parts and also discovery tiles and turn order tiles. I also incorporated turn order variant into this tray - turn order board is no longer needed,

  • technology tray - which is also a cover for ship parts holder - there is 1 space less for each track except the black one - for black tiles there is one more space. Excess tiles you can store next to this tray. There is more space for them (I think 1-2 more tiles will fit into one compartment). There is also space for enemy tiles, so you can hold them here in the box and also on the table.

  • setup holder - for some components needed during setup,

  • map tiles holder - for map tiles and help tiles.

Requirements:

  • about 2600g (one color) - 2680g (four colors) (depends on your settings, I printed with 15% gyroid infill, 2 walls, 5 top and 3 bottom layers, also depends on how many dividers you will print, this value is for 25 map dividers, 50 card dividers, 10 scenario tiles dividers which should be plenty enough),

  • at least 231mm x 209mm print bed.

Instructions:

Supports - no supports required.

  • every file ended with xX (for example x16) - print X times (in given example - 16 times),

  • every file ended with xXY - cards, tiles dividers - print how many you like, to conserve filament no top, bottom layer, I also increased walls to 4 to make them a bit more rigid,

  • Faction_Holder_Rod_Cut_x20 - print 10 in pink, 10 in yellow (only the cut part in the base)

  • Faction_Holder_Rod_x10 - print 10 in brown (only the cut part in the base),

  • Faction_Holder_Cover_x10 - print 20 in yellow, 20 in pink, 20 in brown.

What future holds:

  • I may revisit this insert if more expansions will come out, but I'm not sure if I will buy them,

  • I may add some dividers for ship compartment in faction holder in the future- I removed them, because I would need to design one model per faction, but maybe I will add optional dividers (preferably as a separate model, so you won't need to reprint faction holders).

Enjoy!
