This is a super easy Step-by-Step guide and model set for making your own custom QR Codes using only a single color of filament. While you can still use a different color at the last 2-3 layers if your printer supports that, it is completely optional.
The two examples in the photo were printed only in white PLA filament. You can use any color you like. The raised surface of QR Code and logo is easily painted black using cheap acrylic craft paint and a sponge paint brush (even the sponge paint brush is optional, as I used my finger to paint the first one.) You don't have to print yours in white, you can use any color you want as long as you paint the QR Code a color that has good contrast (Like red PLA with white paint, or light purple PLA with dark blue paint, etc.) Just remember when you are painting you want to dab or blot the paint on lightly... this is not paint the fence Danielsan! Don't drag the brush across the code. If you don't count drying time, it takes maybe 10-15 minutes at most to paint two coats.
Update 6-22-24: CashApp and Venmo QR Code slabs added by request.
Update: 6-29-24: Added blank slab by request.
The slides give complete step-by-step instructions on how to make your own QR Codes using completely free online tools. I used a free tool at https://printer.tools/qrcode2stl to make the QR Code stl file but there are multiple free tools online to choose from (just use the same settings in the screenshots provided). I then imported into https://tinkercad.com (also free) along with the appropriate slab base from this set of files.
In this set you have slabs with logos for WiFi, GPS, Check-In, vCard, Web Links, Email, and Restaurants (for digital menus or coupons).
There are also several styles of base stands to support your QR Code slab and by design they have room for an NFC sticker. The NFC stickers are inexpensive and add a little tech to your custom code. A user can just hold their phone up to the model (using one of dozens of free NFC reader apps) and wirelessly get the link, just like when you tap your credit card at a store. Also they can use their camera to scan the QR Code. *Some older phones may use a QR Code reading app, but most newer phones like anything past an iPhone 8 will read the QR Code just by pointing the camera at it.
I've provided some links below for NFC stickers and craft paint if you need them.
