Embracing the ideology that other races can exist without their Military support, President Clark announced the ultimate destruction of the Minbari Fleet without the use of the Planet Killers. Sharing the same platform, and weapons systems, Ioannis 2 heeded the charge and rapidly developed this class. Nicknamed the “Hive Killer” the Alcaeus Class Taskforce Destroyer is a vessel charged with orders to network with the almost forgotten Janus Light Ship Apparatus to sneak attack all large massing Task Forces and Ship Building yards inside Minbari Space. The strategy is to hold a variety of high power ships and smaller class Bombers and Fighters inside its hollow shell, whilst jumping into the middle of a target and using Thermo Nuclear Missiles and mines to destroy the Minbari Fleet once and for all is effective as xenophobia has now overran Earth. Clark want the Galaxy for himself, and the Shadows encourage it, and the Vorlons secretly begin reactivating their planet killers in reserves should they be needed,
This is a President Clark’s bargaining chip before hostilities commence once the Earth and Minbari Naval Build up is complete. Unlike the Styx Class Planet Killer, this Ship will not engage civillian targets. It’s a 2nd chance before doomsday. The Design speaks to this intent. I would say this is the top #2 most power vessel in this now well underway, unexpected arms race. The Minbari are quickly running out of options and their allies who are non committed to this pending war see the Humans as the victor and suggest talks begin immediately and cause yet another embarrassing Minbari surrender as latest Earthforce ships can take on the Shadows.
