This is just another face mask strap extender that is very low material cost, fast to print, and fits most printers. Nylon works best I've found due to its flexibility and chemical resistance, but you can print them out of PETG or PLA as well.

I use a 0.6 diameter nozzle with 0.3mm layer height and they print in 5-7 minutes. On an Ender 3 you can fit 12-13 on the build plate and it can print in under 90 minutes depending on settings. you can easily print these with a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height, usually around 10-12 minutes at most per piece.

optimized design is now available and uploaded. they take a lot less material and time to print, and so far I have been using the same strap for over a month now without issue. on my Ender 5 Plus i can usually print 30 in a little under 2 hours with a 0.6mm nozzle. my ender 3 with a 1mm nozzle prints 12 in 30-45 minutes on average. the optimized model is the one i personally use on a day to day basis and offer for sale on etsy. A 1kg Spool of filament should be able to print the following quantities:

Honeycomb 0.6mm thick: 600
Honeycomb 0.9mm thick: 400
Solid 0.6mm thick: 510
Solid 0.9.. thick: 340
Optimized Model 0.9mm thick: 625

I have also included my CURA Profiles for PETG, PLA, and Nylon that I've used on my Ender 3 Pro and Frankenprinter to print these. The profiles should work for most printers with minimal tweaking. If nothing else its a good starting point if youre having a hard time building a slicing profile for these.

There are 3 versions uploaded. The first is the optimized design that is the result of several months of testing and is currently under review by the NIH for use in clinical enviroments. The second is the original design, the one pictured with the honeycomb cutouts. That design has been reviewed and approved by the NIH. And finally the Third is one with a solid band in case the original proves to be too brittle.The models are 0.6mm and 0.9mm thick, best results are achieved with a 0.6mm diemeter nozzle with 0.3mm layer height or 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. the optimized model i usually print with a 1mm volcano hotend at 0.3mm layer height

There are also DXF, DWG, PDF, and SVG drawings in the files available in case anyone wants to use something like a laser cutter to cut these from PET sheets or something similar.
