Slip-on dust shield for the Thrustmaster AVA Joystick Mount to help keep dust out of the gimbal area. It covers the entire gimbal when joystick is centered and easily moves with it.
To install, don't try to pull it open (that will probably just break it), simply twist it a bit, enough to slip over the shaft, then release - it's easier to do if you remove the joystick first. If the twisting deforms it, to flatten it back down just heat it GENTLY with a hairdryer or heat gun to allow it to slightly soften and relax flat, holding it down while it cools if necessary. I also put some aluminum foil around the AVA's cable connector to protect it from the heat, just in case.
It has a 0.5mm split to allow slipping it onto the gimbal shaft with no disassembly needed and to minimize the open seam, so your printer should be capable of reasonable tolerances, or just carefully open up the split a bit with a knife or file. I printed with PLA and it worked fine the first time, even twisting during installation didn't harm anything, although I had to heat it a bit to re-flatten it.
This is a very small contribution to the database and a little payback / thanks for the several useful models I've taken and used. It's just what I needed, so I hope you'll find use for it as well.
