Summary

This is a little drone mounted, radio controlled disc launcher I made.

The discs got about 20' with the spring tension I set. I didn't wan't to go much stronger than that for fear of hurting someone.

I put a logo on the discs I made for an event I attended. I left a few example discs in the model, as well as a blank that you can cut however you want.

The sketchup model is included to make it easier to modify for those who use sketchup.

All together, its a pretty simple build, just lots of parts. A couple of them needed support, you'll be able to tell which. I printed the spring quadrant and cam with 100% fill to make sure they were tough enough to handle the spring, everything else was 25%.

Fully assembled with electronics and fully loaded with discs, the whole assembly weighed in at nearly a half a pound. The Mavic Pro we mounted it on had no trouble at all with it.

You'll see in the video that it looked like it was firing multiple discs. It was popping discs out of the top of the hopper as it shot, so I added a swiveling lid to the hopper but don't have a video of that in action yet.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

It uses a few non printed parts you'll have to scrounge.

Gearmotor: The unit I used is all over Amazon and eBay, search 'Gearmotor Tire'. Its yellow and usually comes with a wheel. Usually about $5 each.

Radio: I used a 12v key fob radio with a relay receiver from Amazon. Seemed like there were plenty of options for around $15.

Battery: I used a 450 mah, 3S, 11.1v LiPo cell from Amazon, was about $10.

Spring: I straightened and re-bent a 2" 'safety pin' from Lowes. If you can't find that, any bit of spring steel with that is almost more than you can bend by hand should do. The stronger you find, the better distance you'll get, until the motor can't pull it anymore.
