I projected a 2d sketch of the male and female latch parts in FreeCAD and then built to the unique geometry of my garbage pullout drawer with only 1/2 inch gap. I needed a side mount because the back of the cabinet is exposed and I couldn't drill into it without risking having the screws pop out of the finished wood.
I counter sunk the holes for sheetrock screw on both sides so you can mount on left or right. I mounted the P-latch in the back left corner against the side wall and mounted the V-latch to drawer itself.
By the way, it isn't necessary to drill screws into all holes on the P-latch. I placed several in case I wanted to stagger things.
