Because spiralize outer contour is amazing, I decided to profit by it. These print in two parts, slide together and then get glued in place. You can use acetone to solvent weld PLA together ( which is my personal preference ). Most other plastics will require horrifying chemicals to achieve this and I would just use superglue or similar.
If you are dead set on solvent welding ABS or PET, I've heard good things about SCIGRIP 3 or 4. These both contain dichloromethane, trichloroethylene and a methyl methacrylate monomer. If you don't know what those are, read up on them before using them.
