Summary

I printed a door bell for our house with an swapable lid to quick change the look on some special day a year.

step files are included so you can make an individual lid for your home

BOM:

5x 3mm nuts

5x 3x12mm screws with sinkhead

2x 4mm hex screws

4x 4mm nuts

1x small insulating screw joint

1x spring 15mm diameter

wire

after printing insert the nuts in the 4 corners of the base. screw the screws in (without lid) and then point the nuts with super glue to hold them in place. Its very frustration to recognize that one nut fell out and the lid is on top ;)

For the bell button use a knife or something else to remove the support inside. put the wire through the hole (see pictures) then wind the unisolated part around the 4mm hexscrew (2 winds should be enough). screw a nut tight on top. then you can insert the screw in the button. I dont know how long my screw is but I cutted it down to the button bottom.

Same procedure for the other plate. Insert the wire wind it and put it in the hole. place the nut on the other side of the plate an cut the screw down to the nut (see pictures)

I cutted about 2cm off the spring and placed it on the plate (see pictures). After fixing the spring with a wire insert the plate in the basehole and put the button on top, then cut the fixing wire. The button now should move up and down by pressing without any problems.

I drilled a 3mm hole in the middle of the insulating screw joint to fix it on the base plate.

that's it.
