Summary

My daughters love their American Girl and Our Generation dolls, and needed a small doll-sized closet for hanging their clothes and storing their accessories. Instead of spending $60 to $80 or more for a purpose-built wardrobe, we purchased a ClosetMaid 8982 Stackable 2-Door Organizer, readily available from Amazon or the local Home Depot. We placed the adjustable shelves towards the top and bottom of the unit, and inserted an inexpensive rubber-tipped, twist-type, friction-fit curtain rod from which to hang the clothes.

We quickly discovered that friction alone was not sufficient to support the rod with the weight of the doll clothes hanging from it. So, I designed these simple closet rod flanges to support the rod at either end. The part is slightly over-built to withstand rugged play from excited girls yanking clothes off of hangars. I suggest 100% infill. You will need to print 2 parts.

This part can also be used anywhere else you need to hang a small curtain rod, or other type of similarly-sized rod. We used these curtain rods in our kitchen windows when I was growing up, and small rod flanges would have been very handy to keep the rods from occasionally falling down.
