I needed lamps for my Skylights in the kitchen. Any small lamp would have looked lost in these huge skylights ~3'x4' So I came up with these Dodecaeders hanging on fishing line from steel cords I spanned across the skylight.
The Steel cords I got from Home Depot. They are originally meant for hanging picture frames.
The Lamp that fits into the large Dodecaeder I got from IKEA (HEMMA). It just clamps to the shade. ONLY use LED bulbs to prevent melting of the lamp shade!
The hole of the full scale Lampshade is 40mm in diameter. Watch out for that when scaling!!
I printed the Dodecaeders with 2 perimeters and 0 infill a in a quasi vase mode. I poked the holes for the fishing line with a hot needle.
I added the small and the larger version of the Dodecaeder to download because I had problems when I scaled them in Cura. The wall thickness is 0.6mm which puts the two perimeters so close to each other that they become one strong wall. When I scaled in Cura these perimeters seperated. Might still work, I didn't try that.
