As I found the DJI Phantom 3 gimbal guards already posted here a bit over-engineered, I decided to purchase the best reviewed gimbal guard on Amazon (Skyreat Phantom 3 Gimbal Guard) in order to obtain the dimensions and design a simple and effective 3D printable version of that gimbal guard.
I designed several versions of this guard to fit most use cases.
-gimbalguard3.2.stl: 2mm thick, cutouts to lessen weight (very flexible)
-gimbalguard3.3.stl: Same as above but with a thickness of 3mm for added rigidity
-gimbalguard3.4.1.stl: 3mm thick with 5mm cross-brace for added rigidity (see image)
-gimbalguard3.4.2.stl: Same as above but with fewer cutouts for added rigidity
Secure the guard to the landing gear with zip ties in the appropriate cutouts. The cutouts fit standard and smaller sized zip ties.
