A Dizi is a chinese traverse flute. It features the so-called 'dimo' which is an extra hole between the embouchure and the upper fingering hole, which is covered by a thin membrane from the inner surface of a bamboo shoot. The dimo is vibrating like the membrane in a Kazoo and gives the flute its characteristic sound. If you are outside of Asia you may find these dimos in an online store. Otherwise you may experiment with some other thin membranes, or you cover it with a piece of scotch tape, which results in a more ordinary flute sound. I have also uploaded a 'no dimo' version which does not feature this extra hole, and which can be played like an ordinary traverse flute. The tuning is in G major. I made it as an exact copy of my real Dizi. The upper part is rather for decoration and is not needed for making a sound. To save materials you may rather like to print the short version 'Dizi short'. There are thus 4 stl files which represents the entire flute with and without dino, long and short version. Since the flute is too long for most of the 3d printers on the market, I also uploaded the flute in 6 pieces. Dizi 1 is the upper part, which you can skip if you like to go for the short version without this decorative part. Choose 'Dizi 3' if you want the version with dimo or 'Dizi 3 no dimo' if you want the version without this additional dimo hole. The individual pieces can be assembled with help of epoxy glue. Make sure that there are no air leaks. The sharp edge on the embouchure likely needs some sharpening after the printing.
