Summary

"Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy." This plaque has hung above the two portals under the Main Street Train Station at Disneyland's main gate since 1955.

There are at least two other versions of the Disneyland entrance plaque here on Thingiverse. I can already hear you asking, "why another one?" Simple: I'm a stickler.

None of the other models were accurate to the plaques as they appear at the park. The letters follow a very gentle arc - an arc that matches both the curve of the plaque itself and the curve of the broader entrance tunnel. In addition, the plaque would have been handcrafted in 1955. That means a modern typeface doesn't quite work -the letters are highly irregular.

I hand traced a new SVG of the Disneyland plaques - recreating each letter and keeping each oriented toward the arc. Some of the kerning of the letters on the original plaques is awkward. I've maintained that awkward here as well.

The one place I've deviated from the original plaque is in the four attachment points. In this model, they are pilot holes only to help get mounting placement correct. My plan is to find decorated screws which mimic the original decorated screw covers of the original plaques.

I have printed this model at 66% of the size uploaded here, as well as 133% (the max my Ender 3 will comfortably allow). At 66%, the As lose their horizontals, but most other details were retained. The 133% was a gem!

EDIT: Fixed the issue with the L in the first line and uploaded an updated file.
