The design was done for a competition at our local maker space - (http://www.binaryspace.co.za/). The competition was divided into 2 challenges:
Challenge Part 1:
Design a single sided pcb that functions as a clock.
Challenge Part 2:
Design a 3d printed enclosure for a 10cm in diameter clock pcb.
This clock was designed by me, and inspired by the Disneyland castles. It has space for a 10cm round clock face and all batteries, electronics and clock mechanisms are housed inside the square body of the castle.
For my build, I also put small pictures of shadows of the Disney characters in the windows, and they are lit with high bright LED's so it doubles as a nightlight.
The whole project was 3D printed and spray painted afterwards. I also included a pdf with the design I created and etched on the pcb for the clock face.
My husband also created an entry: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1586350
