The file 'Discobolus No Support (The Discus Thrower) 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 12.8MB.
Do you hate support and the scars removing it leaves on a beautiful model? Do you love smkmuseum's elegant scan yet feel reluctant about printing it because of the tremendous amount of support needed? This may be the solution! I carefully cut the model into six pieces so each piece can be printed perfectly without any support. All parts are already oriented correctly. In addition a plate file that contains all parts is provided. I scaled the model down to 12% (No detail is lost in downscaling). I also cut a thin layer off the original scanned base as it was neither flat nor level.
Gluing the model up should be straightforward, but a minor warning: consider using E6000 (a type of shoe glue) instead of superglue; the latter may dry too quickly for you to make fine alignment adjustments.
