I designed this to retrieve discs off dangerously thin ice. It slips onto the hook part of the tape measure allowing it to slide over the top of a disc and then grab the back side to pull it back to shore.
There are two designs, one with side reinforcements (V2) and one without (V1). The one with reinforcements is more durable and should hold up better kept in a bag with other disc golf equipment. These both fit a Kobalt (Lowe's home improvement store house brand) 35 foot tape measure, and will likely fit others. You can modify the files on Tinkercad if you find the hook gap doesn't fit your tape measure. I found that gluing a weight to the retriever helped with stability when extending the tape across the ice, especially when it's windy.
I've printed these in ABS, PLA, and TPU. The TPU version doesn't hold on very well and needs a binder clip to stay attached, but the flexible nature does keep it from snapping if it gets crushed in your bag.
