The file 'Direct Drive Elevator Trim Wheel Remix 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 227.8KB.
After trying two different versions of the trim wheel / rudder mod, I was not satisfied with the use of gears which kept binding so I made a direct drive version of the trim wheel driving the encoder.
To accomplish this, I modified the left side case to accomodate the 608 bearing which meant making the side panel it a bit wider. Next, I created an Encoder Drive Bearing replacement to fit into the trimwheel in place of the original 608 bearing. The embedded encoder shaft is bored is bored out to 6mm to fit over the encoder shaft.
Lastly, I made a small change to the encoder mount to fit the encoder properly and modified the right side to lower the distance between the encoder and the inside of the case.
The fake bearing is a press fit which I used a 1/2" socket and a tap hammer to put it in place in the trim wheel.
I used the rudder pot change from the remix by tom_nl. I am using a 10K potentiometer for the rudder trim.
The base was extended a few millimeters to account for the increased width and an extention added to the back to allow for mounting on a board if you prefer not to have it under the desk.
I used a resin printer to print the bearing replacement and it is the only part that needs supports.
The encoder I used is from Amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DM2YMT4?psc=1&ref=product_details
