MyRCCar 1/10 Tesla Model S On-Road / Touring RC car body

Hi all again!

I'm so happy to share with you my new on-road rc car body, a Tesla Model S light weight multipart body, with 3d printed windows, lights and I hope enough details to catch your eye :) One more time, the source for the model is 3dwarehouse.

I have tryed to divide the body with the less visible marks possible, but not perfect. The biggest part is the center one, wich will need a 200x200x225mm printing volume to be printed. One more time I used my extra cheap Anet A8 to print it all :) Maybe the day I print my things with a 3000€ 3d printer I get featured ;)

This time I have used a new technique to create the "plain" parts. As my previous "stickers" in other publications, this are extra thin parts to be printed in plain but glued with the correct round shape. This way I could print 0.15mm transparent windows or 0.4mm black window perimeters.

I made a first video of the MyRCCar OBTS On-Road chassis with Tesla Body with lights! I have never driven a car like this so I can not compare. Also my skills in RC driving are tootaly noob ones, I hope you can forgive me...

The parts have been grouped into 4 main groups:

Big Parts MRCC_TMS_BIG:

(You will need to print and assemble this ones and upload a make of the thing to get the rest of the parts)

This thing is not remixable and NOT ALL FILES ARE SHARED VIA THE DOWNLOAD BUTTON. I want to know about people interested in this thing, so to get all the parts for the build you will need to show the "BIG" parts printed in a "make" of the thing you must upload in thingiverse and say something to me by Private Message. Remember I have been working on this over a month and I share it for free, so being kind is a must. If you want to know a little more about why I do things this way, take a look to the number of makes of my things, wich I consider useful and interesting...

Every time I start a new project I look for the ways to use less time but get good enough results. This time I took some shortcuts to make the BIG parts which could cause you some printing errors, so review your printing previews with caution before printing. The 3 biggest parts have self intersections, so maybe you need to work a little over them before printing. How?¿? Use MeshMixer to "make solid" the object, with the best accuracy your pc can achieve, or the one you want. This way the self intersections will dissappear but the file will be eeeeextra big if you use high params in the "make solid" tool. Anyway I'll try to share also the "meshmixed" files I used to print my make.

If you really like the thing and/or other of MyRCCar projects, remember to join the related MyRCCar Group to search and ask there for more information if you want and share your makes and problems with us!

What's under the hood?

NEW: NOW YOU CAN MOUNT IT OVER [MyRCCar KIDS On-Road Chassis]() too!

This body is mounted over a new 295mm wheelbase MyRCCar (O)BTS ON-ROAD chassis I recently built with some old black parts from my OB(T)S Truggy and some new ones. To get the central transmission dogbone problem out, this chassis uses centered central transmission, wich allows plastic axles to do the work correctly.

Is hard to assemble it?

You will need twelve M3x10-12mm long screws and some good glue, most of the parts must be glued.
The lights has place for 1x5mm Led + 1x3mm Led in each of the front lights, and 2x5mm Leds + 1x3mm Led in each of the rear lights. Maybe you can use some thermo-glue to fix them inside their holes...

I have put some extra hours in the rear lights, wich should/could get iluminated similar to te real Tesla, but need some painting. You will need the front covers to get the front lights in place, so the details of the front lights will be less visible. You can mount the rear lights with or without the covers, so is up to you to show the special features of your rear lights ;)

I have designed a quick and extra easy way to mount the body over the OBTS 295wb chassis wich I think can be a valid one for much people. You will need to screw 2 extra lateral parts to the chassis so, if you plan to do that, it will be much easier if you do it before glueing your windows. You can do it with a little allen tool anyway.

Now only the S from the OBTS chassis needs some attention, remember you can build a buggy or a truggy also with the OBTS Chassis, but there is no "S" Short Course Truck build by now... Maybe some other designer could make the necessary parts to accomplish a Short Course Truck build with the OBTS chassis, and maybe also could design a compatible SCT body shell! Will it be you?¿? :)

[MyRCCar]() is the word my friend!!!
