Hello! I designed this cool decorative box from scratch for my Dad's birthday present. To be honest, it ended up being a bit late (literally a year oops) due to various delays and the fact that it took me significantly longer to design than I thought.
Every printed part was designed from scratch and it took several test iterations to get a nice smooth drivetrain. I spent a lot of time designing this and I think it would be a waste for there to be only one out there so I'm really looking forward to seeing somebody build it! My original plan was to make it out of wood filament and sand/stain/varnish to get that nice wooden look with black gears but I gave up after a few failed prints on the box.
In addition to the printed parts, you'll need:
x19 M3x12 button head cap screws
x2 Everbilt 2 inch brass hinge ---> https://www.homedepot.ca/product/everbilt-2-inch-solid-brass-narrow-hinge-fixed-pin-2pk/1000773733
The assembly drawing should give you enough info to assemble it. The large gear on the side will fit you just need to flex it to get in. Hope you and enjoy and I'm happy to help if people have questions! Also if there is enough interest I can provide the SolidWorks files.
