A case for sim racing dashboard. It has places for speedometer, tachometer and current gear indicators. In the back is a place for a USB B-type connector. It can easily any kind of electronics to do the job. If everyhing would be on one board, the case could be much thinner, if that is preferred.
Electronics inside were built from scraps of old computers and some board (which didn't even have strips on it). A PIC microcontroller is handling everything in the device. Configuration and data to show is receiven from a PC with serial commucation over USB.
PIC firmware just translates the received data to be shown on 7-segment displays and LEDs. A configured ratio of RPM is shown with green, yellow and red tachometer LEDs.
I have written plugins or other tools for couple of games to get speed, current gear, RPM and maximum RPM data for the device. Data is sent directly to devices virtual serial interface.
At the moment these games are supported:
Original FreeCAD files are included for easy modification. Schematics, firmware and PC software can be made available if someone is interested.
