The file 'Cylinder Lock 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 184.3KB.
Simple cylinder lock mechanism whit key.
Instructions:
You'll only need four extra springs. Pen springs (4mm diameter, 12-20mm length at rest) are just perfect.
Be careful when printing the 8 pins. They are all of different length. From left to right they need to be inserted from the front of the cylinder to the bottom.
Insert the upper row of pins in the lock body after having inserted the springs in the holes on the lock body. Insert the lower row of pins in the cylinder in the right order. You can now try to push the key in the cylinder to check if all pins are perfectly aligned on the surface of the cylinder.
Before putting all together you should verify that all pins move freely in their holes.
Push the cylinder in the body while the key is in the cylinder. The cylinder will get locked inside thanks to its fins. When the two parts are aligned the key can be extracted.
