I made some owls for my wife and I realized they would make excellent checkers.
The crowns are made to fit tightly on the owls.
I scaled the owls to 500% from the original file created by budgiesarecool http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:709768. At 500% the owls fit well inside of a 1" square so they should be suitable for most boards.
