If you enjoy building and flying model rockets, then this tool can be invaluable as it will allow you to design and build an extensive range of model rocket nose cone types, configurations and sizes. The academic work for the NOSE CONE FACTORY is handled by Garrett Goss' NOSE CONE LIBRARY, so full credit for that should go to him.
Ideally, print with 0% infill and shell thickness to suit your needs. When the cone is printed make sure you drill a vent hole somewhere on the sleeve interior in order to equalize atmospheric pressure inside the cone when at altitude. The generated nose cones are optimized to print upright and should produce very good results on just about any well-maintained printer.
Nose cone type, height, body tube outside diameter (OD) and inside diameter (ID) as well as some type-specific parameters are all configurable. You may need to tweak the inside diameter by a few dozen microns for best fit as different printers and filament material may deviate slightly. Sandpaper and tape can often correct some of that, but you may prefer to be nominally accurate.
