Autumn is here. Where I live that means lots of rainy days. I thought I'd print a mud guard for my touring bicycle (Crescent Yotta). Wanted one of those really small/light ones known as "ass savers".
This customizable mud guard is a remix of the fender mud guard for mtb. See the drawing for the parameters you can tweak.
I printed it in 1.5mm TPE using a .8 mm nozzle. Using less flexible filament you likely have to make it thinner, since it's supposed to bend into a curved shape. Add a bit of tolerance to the mounting holes. I used drill_diameter=5.2 for the 5 mm screws.
Question is if the mud guard is sufficiently long to "save my ass". 190 mm was as far as I could go on my printer. The next rainy day (won't be long I'm sure), I'll let you know if it was any good.
EDIT: 190 mm is insufficient, still muddy on my back after a bike ride in the rain.
